PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — A stolen SUV was being driven by a 12-year-old boy. After a foot chase, he was arrested in East Liberty.

Officers that were near the Penn Avenue in East Liberty Tuesday pulled alongside a 2016 red Ford SUV in traffic. They noticed that the driver was far too young to be operating a motor vehicle.

A license plate check on the police car computer showed that the vehicle was reported stolen.

After the crash, three juvenile males escaped from the stolen SUV on foot. After that, the driver was arrested from Noth Euclid Avenue.

The passenger that was in the car, ran from the car to the 5600 block of Broad Street, through the house, out the back door but was caught by the police.

From the same area, two calls were reported for thefts from vehicles.

Another call was reported from the 200 block of South Graham Street, where a female victim reported that someone entered and ransacked her vehicle.

The 12-year-old boy found to have a warrant of his arrest out of Westmoreland County. The 11-year-old suspect turned him over to a parent. No other word is given about the third juvenile.
