BELLEVUE, Pennsylvania – A 36-year-old man has been arrested by the Bellevue police who has been accused of breaking into several churches and schools in the Pittsburgh area.
Jeffery Chambers was caught on surveillance video breaking into the Assumption School on North Jackson Avenue on June 8, according to the criminal complaint.
During the burglary, $150 was taken from the school office and the After-School Care program room.
Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, an officer in Bellevue contacted Ohio Township Police. Chambers had an active warrant for a church burglary in that township.
Both police departments confirmed Chambers was the suspect.
Chambers is described as having been “seen in multiple other churches and school burglaries in various other jurisdictions,” according to the criminal complaint.
Chambers is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
