PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — On Sunday, July 29 three men jumped off the Pittsburgh’s Hot Metal Bridge into the Monongahela River.
Three men were found in the water at about 8:40 p.m.
Austin Bible got injuries. He was struggling to get to the shore appeared to be dead.
Family members, friends, and coworkers of the 25-year-old Austin Bible said he was active and adventurous. They believe he was just trying to have fun when he jumped off the Hot Metal Bridge.
Emergency responders were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. for the report of three men who jumped into the river from the bridge.
River rescue, police, EMS and fire crews found the men in the water and began rescue efforts. City’s river rescue unit was able to pull 25-year-old Bible from the river. The rescue unit took lifesaving measurements.
Bible was taken to the hospital, where he died. What about the other men, they were pulled from the water. Police says they didn’t get any injuries.
Two of them said they didn’t have any intention to commit a suicide.
